The Bastille is now the hottest area in Paris and rapidly changing. Travel articles talk about the Marche d'Aligre, affordable eateries helmed by talented chefs, trendy boutiques, and the best cocktail bar in Paris–all of which you can definitely visit on your own–but on your own you'll get no sense of what it means to live here and be invested in the still small neighborhood gusto. This walk is meant to capture everything entertaining in one slice of a district. We begin by the statue of Beaumarchais on rue Saint Antoine and sample it all as we go. There are a slew of stops where proprietors will be prepared for us, but our choices will be unplanned. In light of these variables a starting time will be announced after booking.
