Our back roads visit into the old working class neighborhoods of Belleville and Menilmontant starts outside line 3 metro stop Gambetta (Orfilia—exit 5) at the renowned Pere Lachaise cemetery (where hundreds of famous creatives are buried). We discover the one-time villages of outlaws and misfits, tracing their country rhythm and soul (as expressed in Edith Piaf's timbre and on screen in the The Red Balloon) to the high and low roads, maximizing the possibility of chance in present day lively street scenes. After enjoying our find of insider picks and being immersed in the social mix we will end in an ethnically Chinese community full of places to eat and drink and soak up the French touch.
