DESCRIPTION:
A tale of two neighborhoods is a look at the Bastille and Marais neighborhoods through the lens of yesterday's revolution and today's urbanization. We meet outside the line 8 metro stop Faidherbe Chaligny (escalator exit) in the Bastille and weave and wind through the vibrant and offbeat quarters of the most densely populated arrondissement where Parisian life pulses, going as far as the northern Marais or onward past Republique to the now very hip Canal Saint Martin. These neighborhoods were once the homes of artisans, laborers, and aristocrats; they are full of art and markets, boutiques and galleries, restaurants and cafes.
